Q: How much deposit do you require?

A: I require a deposit of £150.00 to secure a booking. This can be paid via cheque or directly into the bank

Q: How would I gain access to the apartment?

A: I request that guests ring a day or so before arrival with an estimated arrival time. I will personally welcome you and show you into the apartment. I provide each guest with a set of keys which must be replaced if lost. Please don’t worry if your arrival time is in the evening as I only live on the opposite side of the road to Barford House. Alternatively if you’re arriving in the early hours and I am booking you a taxi pickup from the airport, the driver will have your apartment key and let you in. Arrangements will be made for picking the key up under different circumstances.

Q: Where can we park on arrival?

A: There are four parking spaces to the front of the property; you can also park on the road outside, there are no parking restrictions.

Q: Will there be a welcome pack in the apartment on arrival?

A: There is no welcome pack as such however I do provide tea, coffee and a pint of milk. I also provide the following in the kitchen:, dishwasher tablets, dishcloth, scourer, washing up liquid and a few cleaning products. There is also a vacuum cleaner in each property.

Q: What do we do on departure?

A: Ensure the keys are inside the apartment and then simply shut the door behind you! I will meet you just before you depart.

Q: When can we arrive and what time do we need to depart?

A: Arrival can be anytime from 4pm onwards and I kindly ask that guests leave by 10am on their day of departure. Local Amenities

Q: How far is the town from the apartments?

A: The town is literally a ten minute walk away from the apartments and this is where you will find a good selection of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. The Promenade is just a 5 minute stroll away and here you will find the Marine Lake. The Floral Hall & Conference Centre. The Marine Way Bridge leads to the beach, shopping complex and restaurants.

Q: How far is the nearest supermarket from the apartments?

A: Tesco Express is a 2 minute stroll away. Morrison’s is located just off the Promenade. Asda is a five minute drive away and Sainsbury’s is situated on Lord Street.

Q: How far is the train station from the apartments?

A: The train station is a 15 minute walk (or a 4 minute car journey) away, heading into the town Centre.

Q: Do you provide restaurant recommendations, information on local attractions, days out and events?

A: Yes – each apartment has a guest information pack which includes a brief overview of all of the above as well as information about the apartment. I also provide town maps and Tourist Board brochures including Southport’s eating out guide. Apartment Supplies/Equipment/Services

Q: Is there an iron & ironing board in the apartment?

A: Yes.

Q: Is there a hairdryer in the apartment?

A: Yes.

Q: Are towels/bed linen included?

A: I do not provide towels and tea towels I do provide bed linen and bath mats.

Q: Do you provide any toiletries

A: No,

Q: How well equipped is the kitchen?

A: Each kitchen comes with enough equipment to allow guests to cook a full scale meal. We provide everything from the smallest of items to a George Foreman grilling machine.

Q: Is there a washing machine in the apartments?

A: Yes but only in the garden apartment

Q: Can you provide an electric heater if it’s particularly cold?

A: Yes

Q: Can you provide extra beds and if so, how many will you allow per property?

A: Yes, I can provide one guest bed per apartment

Q: Are you child/baby friendly?

A: Yes, I welcome children of all ages and can provide a travel cot (with sheet and blanket) and highchair at no additional charge. Each apartment has a selection of children’s DVD’s

Q: Can I get online in the apartment?

A: Yes, there is free Wi-Fi in each apartment. Network names and passwords are included in the guest information pack.

Q: Do you provide operating instructions for the TV/DVD and white goods?

A: Yes, there are user operating instructions in the lounge and kitchen

Q: Do you provide any specialist items for elderly guests who are less able bodied?

A: Yes I have a wheelchair at Barford House which must be booked as it’s very popular. I also provide a bed rail which slides under the mattress and a chair with supporting arms which sits over the toilet. The two bedroom ground floor apartment now boasts a large walk in shower with a shower chair. All our bathrooms have a grab rails fitted to the wall. I will always try my very best to make our elderly guests stay comfortable, please ask if I don’t have something which might make your stay easier, and I will try my best to pick this item up. I now have outside electric points for those guests who wish to bring their electric scooter.

Q: Can you recommend a taxi company to pick us up from the Airport?

A: Yes I can book you a taxi either return or one way; all I require are your flight details and name. The driver will ask for payment when he picks you up at the Airport. I use the same company they are very reliable and friendly. Families with a small child will require a booster seat by Law; please mention your child’s age when giving your details.

Q: Our flight arrives through the early hours of the morning can some essentials be picked up for breakfast?

A: Yes I will gladly pick you up some cereal, bread and butter. Tea, Coffee, Sugar and milk are already provided

Q: Are there any other charges?
